Meals Available for Families Saturday, Feb. 21, in Case of Inclement Weather Remote Learning Day

February 20, 2026

Good afternoon, Prince George Families,

We are continuing to monitor the weather forecast, as snow may impact our area Sunday into Monday.

As a precaution and in anticipation of a Remote Learning Day, if road conditions become unsafe Sunday night into Monday morning, student meals will be available at Prince George High School (7801 Laurel Spring Road) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Meals will be distributed between B Wing and F Wing (Gym) along the sidewalk. Please look for signs.

Please click HERE to sign up if you want to receive a meal and intend to pick it up during the distribution window. Please complete all sections of the sign-up form.

I want to stress that tomorrow’s meal distribution is being done as a precaution and does not necessarily mean PGCPS will hold a Remote Learning Day on Monday.

As usual, we will communicate with you in advance if our operating status changes for Monday from a normal school day, whether due to a delayed opening or a designated Remote Learning Day.

As we keep an eye on the weekend, please know that safety is always our first priority, and any decision to delay or close school due to inclement weather is made to protect our entire community—including students, staff, and families.

Again, should our opening status change for Monday, we will let you know by phone, our ParentSquare app, our website, and social media as usual.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,

Dr. Wayne Lyle
Superintendent
Prince George County Public Schools
