N.B. Clements Junior High School, Junior BETA Club Celebrated for Leadership During Recent Summit

November 7, 2024

N.B. Clements Junior High School's Junior BETA Club students were able to showcase their leadership and collaboration skills during their recent trip to the organization's Leadership Summit in late October.

During a two-day trip on October 29-30 to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, over 30 students participated in a series of themed activities that allowed them to display their analytical and collaboration skills fully. Among them, the Collaboration Connection activity saw a half-dozen students work together to solve a challenge in a short amount of time.

The Project Proposal activity saw Clements' Junior BETA Club think critically about a problem in the community and create a solution. The students also took part in a "Lead Outside the Box" challenge, where they were given a problem prompt when they arrived at the summit and had to present their solution the next day.

Clements' group would qualify for the National Convention in the three activities. The National Convention will take place in late June in Orlando, Florida, where these students will continue to showcase their talents and dedication.

In addition to their competitive success, N.B. Clements Junior High School was recognized as an Outstanding Leadership School. This achievement reflects the exceptional teamwork and commitment our students have demonstrated throughout their preparation and during competition.

This success would not have been possible without our parent chaperones' and staff members' support and guidance, including Ms. Kimbro, Ms. Miller, and Ms. Keeler — a special thanks to Mrs. Brooks for her instrumental role in preparing our Project Proposal team.
